ZBB Energy Corporation Announces Energy Storage System Sale to Ireland

ZESS 500 TO BE INSTALLED WITH 850KW WIND TURBINE

MILWAUKEE, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ZBB Energy Corporation (NYSE Alternex: ZBB) announced today that it has received an order for a standard, modular, ZESS 500 energy storage system to be installed in conjunction with existing wind energy assets at the Centre for Renewable Energy, Dundalk Institute of Technology in the Republic of Ireland.

In announcing the sale, ZBB's Vice President of Sales and Marketing Mr. Kevin Dennis said "We are extremely pleased to have won this contract through a public tender process. The ZESS 500 will be installed alongside an existing 850kW wind turbine that is already providing half of the Institutes power requirements. The addition of this energy storage system will maximize the viability of wind energy".

Director for the Centre for Renewable Energy at the Dundalk Institute of Technology, Mr. Larry Staudt stated "We are looking forward to having the first large scale wind/storage test facility on a college campus. Electricity storage has a bright future as the world makes a transition to sustainable energy sources". Mr. Staudt added that this project is being supported by Enterprise Ireland which is funded by the Irish Government and part-financed by the European Union under the National Development Plan 2007-2013.

The ZESS 500 is a 500kWh 'plug and play' system consisting of ten of the Company's standard 50kWh modules, together with associated power electronics and integrates with the existing power management system operating in conjunction with the wind turbine. The contract includes delivery to site, installation support, commissioning, on-site monitoring and an annual service agreement. The gross contract value is in excess of EUR500,000.
